Fine ebony & boxwood chessmen in the Calvert pattern.
Pieces with fine mutli turned bodies. The knights as fine carved horses , Kings with ball and cone shaped tops.
Kings 9.5 CM Tall Board 40.5 CM Squares 4.5 CM
Chessmen come with same period English mahogany framed chess board the squares inlaid in boxwood and mahogany squares. the frame with duoble mitre corners imilar to Jaques in manufacture.
Chessmen come in English mahogany dovetailed lift top chess box with bone escutcheon. Same period as the chessmen.
The chessmen & board retain original French polished finish.
All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
