Fine turned bone playing set one side stained red other side left natural. These fine turned sets were made in Denmark in the 18th & 19th Century.
Pieces with attractive slender turned stems. Kings & queens with petal galleries, rooks and bishops with conical / ball finials of opposing colour, typical of the Danish pattern.
Set comes in same period mahogany slide lid chess box.
Chess set with same period English mahogany chess board with inlaid mahogany & satinwood chess board, raised upon mahogany turned feet.
