REF3547 English chessmen & board box.
Circa 1840 - 1870
Turned bone chessmen , one side stained red other side left natural. Pieces with concentric turned decorated bodies upon bases, rooks as towers, knights as detailed horses heads, bishops with traditional split mitres.
The chessmen come with same period English ebonised folding chessboard , the squares inlaid in walnut & boxwood . The box board closes with interior housing the chessmen.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
