REF3552 Fine hybrid Staunton pattern by Hallett.
Circa 1850 - 1855

Rare pattern boxwood & ebony chessmen from the workshops of London maker Hallet of Holborne. William Hallet first appearence in the London directory as a master turner in 1838.

This classic hybrid design came in the early 1850’s and were made in various sizes. The pieces with fine turned convex bodies. Excellent detailed knights with attractive manes and screw thread pegs to secure onto bases.

Set retains original French polished finish.

Comes in mahogany lift top box same period as the chessmen.

Kings 8.5 CM Tall

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
