Fine turned & carved English Staunton pattern chess set, one side in ebony other side in boxwood. Pieces with green baize to bases.
The high quality turning and carving matching fine makers such as Jaques of London.
The over all pattern, knights style and ball finial on King would strongly indicate that the maker was B & Co of London.
Chessmen retain original French polished finish
The chessmen come in original mahogany slide lid box with mitre sides.
