Fine Indian board box of Sandalwood with ivory and sadeli inlaid chess board, exterior of Ivory with Sadeli work decorated boarders.
The interior inlaid with ebony, ivory and sadeli work to form a backgammon board.
A very fine example of pieces made for the European market from India, the fine detailed sadeli work a form of micromosaic decoration from Bombay, Surat & Ahmedbad in Western India.
