Circa 1895
Fine turned & carved Staunton chess set in the Royal pattern variation. One side ebony other side in a rich toffee boxwood. King side knights and rooks with crown stamps. All pieces heavily loaded to bases with green baize.
Set comes in original mahogany dovetailed French polished lift top box with BCC paper trade label.
Size “no. 1 S” which is the largest size “1” and also classified as superior “s”
All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
