Circa 1850-1890
Large English playing set in the “St George” pattern style. Pieces turned in boxwood and ebony with a good original polished finish. All pieces with green baize to bases. Fine turned pieces & excellent carved knights.
Set comes in an English oak lift top box same period as chess pieces. The box with attractive brass decoration.
Set comes with a vintage English oak carved chess board in the Neo Gothic style. The border frame with carved decoration, the squares in oak and opposing carved oak squares.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
