Large boxwood & ebony playing set, the pieces with attractive bulbous bases typical of the “Dublin”Pattern.

Set retains an excellent original French polished finish.

Set comes with same period mahogany chess box with green baized interior.

Set comes with English antique mahogany framed chess board, circa 1900. With mahogany & satinwood inlaid squares,

These sets were made by a number of good English makers such as Jaques of London and can be seen in there pattern book. They were made in much less numbers than the more common Staunton, St George and Upright pattern sets.

All the sets go through a professional workshop before they go online, any minor faults such as chips or splits are restored, therefore the sets are all in excellent condition.
