Fine ebony & boxwood weighted Staunton chessmen , the king side knights and rooks with crown stamps. Knights as fine carved horses heads . The pieces fine turned pieces retains original French polished finish , all pieces with loaded bases and green baize.
Chessmen , box and board all retain an excellent original French polished finish.
These fine sets were made by a good English maker such as Ayres of London.
Chessmen comes in original mahogany lift top box with green baize lined interior.
Set comes with a fine quality vintage mahogany chess board with moulded frame.
